Wolvi grove - Avocado Hipcamp
Back in November I was on my way from Gladstone back to the Gold Coast, and was planning a 10 day trip to K'gari, and this was the closest camp to Tin Can Bay, which was my last stop before going on the Island. I happened upon this Hipcamp through the app, and loved the idea of sleeping amongst the Avocado and Mango Trees.
I arrived at the camp and settled in to an area that was much too big for one person, but an absolutely fantastic spot with a very cute little welcome "house" that contained games (avo themed), books, and a little map of the property showing the grove and the local walks.
Once I had settled in I had a visit from the owner and her Kelpie, (she had messaged me earlier to let me know that she'd come say hi once I was settled and comfy - and only if I wanted to - and that if she talked to much to let her know and she'd leave me in peace). Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to talk to strangers, especially if there is an opportunity for me to learn more. So, we talked for ages, all about avocados, about mangoes, farm life, puppies, local attractions and just life in general. We had a great chat, and the host was kind enough to suggest some local places to spend some time!
Her main recommendation was "Three Lagoons" and it was a fantastic one! I had the forest and the lagoons all to myself. Apart from the screaming cicadas I had the entire place to myself. The water was absolutely lovely, and for those brave enough and who have better upper body strength than I do, there is a rope swing into the water.
The other reason I chose this Hipcamp was because it was close to Tin Can Bay, so on my way out early in the morning I could head to the dolphin feeding. More to this in the next edition.
Highly recommend this Hipcamp, you can check it out here.
